Brontae Hunter is an actress currently living in Stratford, Ontario. In 2007, Brontae played Gretl in a production of The Sound of Music, in her hometown, Kincardine. At seven years old, she developed a passion for theatre and decided she never wanted to quit. Since then, she has played several roles, including, Fantine in Les Misérables, Sarah in Innocence Lost, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Esther in Meet Me in St. Louis , and Olivia in Twelfth Night. Although acting will always be her first love, she loves to play and write music, as well as dance. She recently wrote, directed, and organized a performance collective entitled For Our Stolen Sisters to instigate discussion surrounding the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. With the help of the cast, and the staff of Stratford Central Secondary School, the show raised $789 for The Native Women’s Association of Canada. She plans to attend theatre school after she graduates from Stratford Central next spring, and pursue a career in theatre and activism.
