“I love words, I love thinking, and I recognize and value the core of a universal idea simplified into a three-minute song,” says Buffy Sainte-Marie. “What appealed to me in folk music were the songs that have lasted for generations, but I wasn’t trying to be one of those guys. I wanted to give people something original.”

…and she has, for over five decades. She speaks to the present and the future with an eye to the past. Juno Awards, Grammy Awards, the Polaris Prize, the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award, she is celebrated and is truly a national treasure.

We welcome Buffy back to Summerfolk for a special Thursday night performance.
