The Circle’s Corner Dance Band, led by Emilyn Stam, will take you on a sonic adventure from Canada across the Atlantic to the many corners of Europe. With fiddles, accordion, guitar, hurdy gurdy, saxophone and percussion, this band has a repertoire that will get you dancing twirling waltzes, groovy schottisches, energetic bourrées, hypnotic Breton dances, and more from the European Bal Folk tradition, plus give you a new take on Contra Dance music. Two of the band members, Emilyn and Tangi, started Balfolk Toronto 4 years ago, and have a skill for making these dances fun and simple, easing in any newcomers to traditional social dancing!
