Come enjoy an afternoon of riverside tunes featuring performances from the Ostertag – Homzy Quartet, David Sereda, and more, from the Riverside Backyard! The Ostertag – Homzy Quartet will be playing from 1pm – 2pm, followed by David from 3pm – 4pm. One ticket is valid for both sets! Please remember to bring a mask. Gates open at 12pm.
Travel to the crossroads of classical, jazz and improv music and you will find the Ostertag-Homzy Quartet, an ensemble is equally at home playing quartets by Mozart as they are composing their own Parisian jazz tunes, and reworking some of the 20th century greatest hits.
Led by cellist Sebastian Ostertag, who has performed in string quartets, baroque orchestras, and Canadian icons Shad and Basia Bulat, and violinist Aline Homzy, an award winning performer and composer who is heard at Jazz festivals around the world, as well as Koerner and Massey Halls.
david sereda is a singer, songwriter and composer. He is one of Canada’s most distinctive voices and one of Canada’s first openly queer singer-songwriters. He is passionate about the power of the human voice, song and the importance of singing your truth.
sereda collaborates in music, theatre, film and interarts projects. He has been Associate Artist with Sheatre since 2002, a community-engaged arts company devoted to social change and telling community stories based here in Grey Bruce.
Whether performing solo, leading a choir or Song Circle, or playing with stellar musicians (like Tyler Wagler and Keira McArthur this Summerfolk) he sings from the heart about what the world is and what it could be.
