When two legendary performers team up to go on tour, you just know things will be amazing.

This year, Summerfolk has the chance to host Archie Fisher on what might be his last tour of North America, accompanied by his long-time touring companion, Garnet Rogers.

 

Archie Fisher, a master guitarist, singer, and songwriter, is Scotland’s foremost Folk music troubadour. He has penned some of the most iconic songs known to folk music— Dark Eyed Molly, Final Trawl, and Witch of the Westmerland to name a few. His 27-year tenure as the host of BBC Radio Scotland’s award-winning ‘Travelling Folk’ show is a testament to his influence. Inducted into the Scots Traditional Music Hall of Fame and awarded an MBE in 2006, Archie’s contributions to Scottish folk music have been recognized and celebrated at the highest levels.

 

Hailed by the Boston Globe as a “charismatic performer and singer,” Garnet Rogers is a man with a powerful physical presence–close to six and a half feet tall–with a voice that resonates just as deeply. With his “smooth, dark baritone” (Washington Post) his incredible range and thoughtful, dramatic phrasing, Garnet is widely considered by fans and critics alike to be one of the finest singers anywhere. Like the man himself, his music is literate, passionate, highly sensitive and purposeful.
