David Newland is a musician, writer, and scholar, currently working on a PhD in Canadian Studies at Trent University. His latest musical project is In Search of Lost Trees, which has been featured by CBC Music’s Fresh Air as well as Roots Music Canada. He toured Canada from coast, to coast to coast with his long-running musical project, The Northwest Passage in Story and Song. David was the host of The Way We Feel, a celebration of Gordon Lightfoot, for 20 years. He has been hosting main stage at Summerfolk for many years and looks forward to sharing songs and stories from his travels with Adventure Canada at Summerfolk 50!
