Tom Wilson Tehåhàhake is a Canadian musician, writer, and visual artist whose creative journey bridges Indigenous identity, storytelling, and sound. His acclaimed memoir Beautiful Scars (a national bestseller adapted into a TVO documentary and a musical at Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius) reveals Wilson’s rediscovery of his true heritage as a Mohawk man.

A member of legendary bands Junkhouse and Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, as well as Lee Harvey Osmond, Wilson’s songwriting has earned multiple Juno and Polaris nominations, gold and platinum records, and collaborations with artists including Sarah McLachlan, Mavis Staples, City and Colour, and Lucinda Williams.
Wilson’s visual art, featured in galleries across Canada, continues to explore Indigenous identity and resilience. His recent installation Fading Memories of Home evokes the legacy of residential schools through haunting imagery and reconstructed classrooms. In 2024, Goose Lane Editions published Mohawk Warriors, Hunters and Chiefs: The Art of Tom Wilson Tehåhàhake.

Appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada in 2023, Wilson continues to champion Indigenous voices through his work and through the Tom Wilson Indigenous Bursary at McMaster University. Through music, paint, and prose, he invites all communities to meet in harmony and understanding.
