Chinese hammered dulcimer, Baltic-tinged strings, old-time and mountain music come together on one stage: Hannah & Nathan, Medusa Quartet, and From China To Appalachia all in harbour at our very own Down By the Bay.
This workshop traces unexpected musical pathways across continents, where traditions meet and reshape one another in real time. From the shimmering tones of the yangqin to the drive of Appalachian fiddle tunes, these artists reveal how shared roots and rhythms can echo across cultures. Expect rich instrumental interplay, thoughtful collaboration, and moments of discovery as each group brings its own perspective to the circle. It’s a gathering that highlights both the distinctiveness of each tradition and the surprising common ground that connects them.
